"Don’t tease," Lydia chided, smoothing her hair self-consciously.
"I wasn’t. I happen to think you look very good for somebody who just stepped off a plane."
Wanting nothing more at that moment than to die, Lydia started to walk straight past him, thinking a refreshing shower would be nice. But he took hold of her arm as she walked past, pulling her back up against him so that her hips met his thigh.
He tucked one of what must have been many wayward locks of hair behind her ear and then whispered into it. "When I tease you, sweetheart, you’ll know it."
Sometimes one person can make you question everything you thought you wanted.
